Crochet Vest (FREE PATTERN)

The CROCHET VEST is worked by combining 36 pieces of squares and 2 pieces of triangles

As soon as we finished making all the squares and triangles we are going to combine them into the desired shape

To finish off we will make the borders on the collar part, arms, and bottom

COMBINE SQARES

To combine the squares we are going to take two squares and put them together so that the front part will be on the outside for both of them.

Then we are going to take the crochet hook and crochet SLST around the two borders. We will insert the hook to the back loop only for the first square and the front loop only for the second square.

BORDERS:

We are going to insert our hook and attach the yarn to the CH-SP of the least visible part where we need to make the borders (for example at the arms this will be the armpit - for the collar part please start at the part shown in the picture).

  • First we are going to CH6

  • then we will make 5SLST back into each CH until we reach the beginning

  • then we need to insert our hook into the next ST of the vest, make a SLST and turn

  • *make 5SLST BLO until the end of the row CH1 and turn

  • make 5SLST BLO until the beginning, insert the hook into the next ST of the vest, make a SLST and turn*

Repeat the part between (*) until you reach the beginning

Now all you have left is to combine it with the beginning part of the border. In order to do so you will insert your hook into the BLO of both sides and SLT until you finished connecting both parts.

Now we finished our crochet vest. The only thing left is the leftover yarns. You can hide them by simply weaving them in with the darning needle.

And here you go. The finished vest! If you liked this tutorial, and it inspired you, I would love to know your opinion. So feel free to leave a review.
